Okay, as I mentioned in the first post, about 2 minutes ago, I am in a class called Creativity Concept Development and I will be posting frequently for this. For one assignment I am trying to find a word a day out of Harold McGee's "On Food and Cooking" and somehow illustrating the word. I am using some patterns and lettering styles I found through a website for Sakura Micron pens... Joanne Fink is the artist.
Anyhow, my first go was just using the dictionary where my first random word was Shandygaff... a drink that is half beer and half ginger-ale. Sounded lovely. That is when I got the idea to focus more on a food type dictionary (or Bible in McGee's case). My first random word was Whisky (Scothc or Irish... no "e" in the speling). And just like that, there was a theme.
I am posting pictures of my first attempts. The first being the SHAND of shandygaff... them a couple of the Whisky. On that note... Happy St. Patrick's Day!!
Cheers!!
Looks great so far. I can't wait to see where this goes!
